For today’s Internet Interludes, we’re pleased to share an encore excerpt from this past season. Along with being an award-winning actress, recording artist and cultural icon, Vanessa Williams is also a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics. Knowing of Ms. Williams’ strong commitment to the organization, Musicfest invited the Kellis High School Unified Choir, an affiliate program of Special Olympics Arizona, to perform alongside Ms. Williams on her signature tune, “Colors of the Wind” (from Disney’s Pocahontas). Comprised of both Special Olympians and partner students, the Unified Choir is a unique and accomplished ensemble. Arizona Musicfest was deeply honored to create this very special collaboration as part of our season’s opening night performance.
