Join us for our bi-monthly music-listening book club!

To get ready to be taken back to Laurel Canyon, we’ll immerse ourselves in some of the iconic songs from this rich period of American Folk Music. From Stone Poneys and the Byrds to James Taylor and Carole King, there was clearly something happening there. Why don’t we stop, and look at what was goin’ ’round in the Canyon together and consider how these songs may have influenced each other, where they may have drawn influences, and what musicians may have been influenced by that prolific era!

As you listen to this playlist, do you find a couple songs that are more alike than others? Are there any tunes that stand out as surprising? Any favorites from the group whose records you’ve worn out? We’ll discuss these questions and more when we get together on the 25th!

Any songs you’d like to add? Email musicalive@azmusicfest.org and we’ll add them!
