Take your ukulele playing to the next level! This class is designed for folks who are comfortable with basic chords and strumming. You’ll expand your chord vocabulary, explore new rhythms and strums, and learn more complex songs, including melodies and fingerpicking techniques. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills or just have fun making music in a supportive group, this class will help you grow as a player.

Some experience required. Students must provide their own instruments. (Concert or Tenor-size Ukuleles recommended).

2026/27 Class Schedule (Classes begin at 11:45 AM):

Fall Semester, part 1: September 14 – October 5 (4 classes) $100

Fall Semester, part 2: October 19 – December 14 (8 classes + 1 jam session) $225

Spring Semester, part 1: January 4 – March 2 (8 classes + 1 jam session) $225

Spring Semester, part 2: March 15 – May 10 (8 classes + 1 jam session) $225

REFUND POLICY: Music Alive! uses a semester-based tuition structure. Courses are non-refundable after the 2nd class. All course refunds (minus the processing fee) shall be prorated up to and including the 2nd class.

Emily Bruso, MM, MT-BC, NMT, is experienced in leading people of all ages and various backgrounds into high-quality musical experiences. As a Phoenix native she is dual trained as a music educator (BA from the University of Arizona) and is a board-certified music therapist (MM from Arizona State University). She is driven by the belief that music-making creates profound and positive impacts in the life of anyone willing to just PLAY! Emily also lives on and manages an urban farm in Phoenix with her husband and two children and enjoys competing in disc-dog sports with her two high-energy dogs.
