Join us for our bi-monthly music-listening book club!

There’s something truly special about collections of voices, whether in small doo-wop groups singing close four-part harmony or blown out into giant Glee Club choruses. The US Naval Academy Glee Club is truly a touchstone ensemble of the form, and stand among the many groups that grew out of the English Glee tradition. To prep our ears for their bracing performance closing our Festival Orchestra weeks, we’ll enjoy a playlist of some of the choruses that carry the “Glee Club” name. As you listen to these, are there other favorite large-chorus pieces that come to mind? Was there a Glee Club at the school(s) you attended? Do you find any difference between a Glee Club and any other group of choral voices?

We’ll discuss those questions and more when we get together on the 8th!

Any songs you’d like to add? Email and we’ll add them!
