Join us for our bi-monthly music-listening book club!

While hailing from Puerto Rico, Jazz legend Tito Puente was a luminary of Afro-Cuban Jazz. Drawing on styles highlighted by Mario Bauza, Machito, and Celia Cruz, Puente brought the genre to new heights. To continue our celebration of the Legends of Latin Jazz, we’ll enjoy a playlist featuring some of the great performers and pieces of the genre. If you can keep your feet still while listening, what do you notice about the tunes – what makes them so driving? What distinguishes your favorites on the playlist from the rest? Do you prefer the uptempo pieces, or the more laid-back ones?

We’ll discuss those questions and more when we get together on March 22 – be sure to register for Dom Moio’s excellent series exploring the genre as well!

Any songs you’d like to add? Email and we’ll add them!
