Our Club Musicfest series brings you special evening performances combining wine and cheese with some of the Valley’s best jazz musicians.

Arizona Musicfest’s very own Resident Artist Josh Condon presents a special performance highlighting the original music of the late legendary jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, whose 100th birthday will be celebrated in 2025. Hailed as one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, Peterson’s pianistic mastery garnered the respect of both the classical and jazz world in a career that listed over 60 years. His own original music, rarely performed, reflects this unique style – from hard-swinging blues to pensive, restrained ballads.

Josh Condon is the Resident Artist and Director of Community Music Programs for Arizona Musicfest, a concert-presenting organization in north Scottsdale.  With a background as a crossover pianist in the genres of both classical and jazz, Josh is equally adept at conducting for choirs, musical theatre productions, and symphony orchestras.  Josh serves as Assistant Conductor for the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchesra, the North Valley Symphony Orchestra and for the Arizona Musicfest Festival Orchestra, and has guest conducted the Scottsdale Philharmonic, the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra, and the Arizona Musical Theatre Orchestra.  He previously served as Resident Music Director for Arizona Broadway Theatre and Music Director for St. Francis Xavier Parish and the Xavier College Preparatory Department of Theatre. Before coming to Arizona, Josh was a music director and pianist for the Norwegian, Celebrity, and Princess cruise lines, where he collaborated with numerous West End and Broadway performers.  He is passionate about creating positive environments in rehearsal and performance so that all can learn and perform to their best ability.  He holds a bachelor’s in Jazz Studies from Ithaca College and a master’s in Music Direction from Arizona State University.  Originally from western New York, Josh resides in Phoenix with his wife Lexy, and their son Arlo.

Also featured on this concert are some Phoenix’s first-call jazz musicians:

Stan Sorenson, guitar

Dwight Kilian, bass

Dom Moio, drums
