Featured as part of this year’s Festival Orchestra concert, Antonín Dvořák’s “My Home” is a symphonic poem written in 1882 as an overture to a play by Frantisek Ferdinand Samberk. The overture’s themes utilize Czech folk tunes, and are meant to illustrate the play’s protagonist, the Czech playwright Josef Kajetan Tyl, in a story set at during the beginnings of Czech theatre.
