In anticipation of Marie Osmond’s peformance on the Musicfest Stage, we’ll reminisce on some of the great musical variety show hosts! Marie and her brother Donny grew in popularity in the late 70s with weekly show. Donny and Marie, is one of a number of musical variety shows hosted by wonderfully gifted and popular musicians. From Mitch Miller and Dean Martin to Carol Burnett and Johnny Cash, networks have sought to capture the star power and talent of some of America’s most-beloved musicians.
We’ll relive some of those great shows through this weeks playlist, which features tunes from an assortment of classic shows including Captain and Tenille, Glen Campbell, and Bobby Darin!
