A Night in Rio

Brazilian Jazz & The Girl From Ipanema!

Ipanema Beach in Rio
A jazzy celebration of the sensual melodies of Brazil’s greatest: Antonio Carlos Jobim. As the creative force behind Bossa Nova, he was and is a favorite of:
  • Sinatra
  • Oscar Peterson
  • Ella
  • Herbie Hancock
  • Bennett
  • Santana
  • Clooney
  • Sting

Such is Jobim’s importance: At his death, Rio renamed its airport for him – one of the most influential composers of the 20th Century.

Among his hits, you will hear Girl From Ipanema, Waters of March, Corcovado, The One Note Samba, How Insensitive, and more. All performed by six of the world’s best:

  • Trio da Paz (Nilson Matta, Duduka da Fonseca, and Romero Lubambo): “Distinctive flair for sophisticated jazz” ~ Washington Post
  • Joe Locke: “The #1 Vibist in the world” ~ DownBeat Magazine
  • Harry Allen: “The perfect tenor saxman” ~ John Pizzarelli
  • Maucha Adnet: “Her pretty voice made Jobim yearn for more” ~ Jazz Times
